>Our club just had a Saturday and Sunday of turning demonstrations by Mark St.Leger. He really is a great demonstrator. He plans his projects as ways to develop the turners skills. He showed us at least a half a dozen ways to mount our work on the lathe. One of the real interesting techniques is making jamb chucks for multi axis turning. He makes the day entertaining as well as interesting. Six lucky turners signed up for the Monday hands on session. They turned a rocking 3 sided box with a eccentric turned finial. They also turned their own jamb chucks for the project. I was lucky enough to be the facilitator for the class and got to learn a little by just being there. Some of the participants were almost overwhelmed by how much they learned. In short if you would like to learn some new techniques attend a mark St.Leger class or demo.
