Tonight's Chat: All About Binary Epoxies

Steve Russell
>Hello to the group,

Please join us tonight for our weekly Turning Chat. This week our topic will be:

All About Binary Epoxies: Lots of woodturners use binary (two-part) epoxies for various tasks in their studios/workshops. From ordinary tasks like using epoxy as an adhesive for segmented projects, to routine crack filling (with sawdust, micas, metallic powders, crushed stone, metal shavings and other fillers), to the more advanced uses like stabilizing wood, spraying epoxy as a primary finish and other artistic uses, epoxy has become an invaluable tool for most woodturners.

Join us as we discuss the many different uses of epoxy in a woodturning environment. If you've developed a new or innovative way to use epoxy, stop in and share your ideas and techniques. If you've encountered a problem with using epoxy, let us all know. Through the mutual sharing of experiences in our weekly chats (both good and bad), we all gain knowledge and advance our skills.

Special thanks to John Lucas for suggesting this topic. :-)

We will start the chat with a 15 minute review of 2 selected works by our WC friends. If you are interested in having your work reviewed at the turning chat, remember to email Ron Sardo: (ron@simplyturning.com) 1 or 2 (max.) photos of some of your recent work (completed or unfinished, in process etc.) for our "Show and Tell" session. Please indicate whether you are submitting the photos as "Completed Work" for a critique, or as an "Assistance Needed" submission that you would like some type of help, or assistance with.

Turning Chat room opens at 9:00pm EDT (For meet and greet)
Show-N-Tell starts at 9:30pm EDT
Main Topic starts at 9:45pm EDT
Post Chat Wrap-Up starts at 10:30pm EDT (For extended discussions if desired)

Pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea or your favorite hot or cold beverage and visit with your WC friends tonight. See you there!
