Green log problems.

Peter Hyde
>I have a wood imp that drops off fresh cut logs on a regular basis. Sometimes it means I can't get to them immediately to wax the ends, and in the heat of this summer it meant they were cracking badly after only 24 hours. So the simple solution seemed to be put them in the rainwater butts around the house. A quick phone call and the next batch were then delivered into the butts. Now 2 weeks later I remove them and they are cracked. These were Mulberry and White Oak. So what went wrong?
