Subject:
Stuck Lid

Barbara Gill, Remlik VA
>Today I turned a nice little cherry box. I usually try not to have a lid fit too tight as having to use two hands to open a box is not user friendly. Today I miscalculated and the lid would not come off. I twisted and twisted. I knew about using a thin bladed knife but was afraid it would damage the wood. I tried the microwave, just warming the wood; that didn't work. So next I tried the refrigerator. The box stayed in for about 15-20 min. The lid twisted off! Now to get some sandpaper and carefully sand so the fit is better.
