myford lathe question

>Hi all, I was recently given an M8 Myford lathe still in the grease.
I didn't get a manual and need to know the spindle thread size.
I am guessing 1"x 12 but not sure. Also, need to know if the spindle and tail take 1 morse taper. This thing is really old school. It came with a dead center for the tail stock. What?? I am not sure how that is suppose to work!
Its in perfect shape...made in 1980..the grey one. It was purchased from Zimmerman in Vermont. You old schoolers might remember him.
1/2 horse. The bed is a tube sort of like the old shopmates. I'm thinking about using it to replace my Mercury mini.
Anyway, any information would be much appreciated. Thanks Joaz
