Subject:
Desiguse a mess

>I just turned a hollow form from (I think some kind of maple). It's not the worst shape, and it was a fair amout of work to hollow it out. But it has numerous cracks that I filled with CA glue and sawdust, which left the work with ugly yellowish stains, and the wood has lots of ugly grey stain all over it. The cracks don't bother me me much, but the stains do. I tried bleach , which did lighten the mess somewhat, but it didn't even out the color. Last Saturday I saw a demo where a black leather dye was used to give the work a beautiful black luster. Could I salvage mine with something like that? Otherwise this one is going in the burn pile.
