Subject:
Reverse Chucking Tall NE bowls??

Andy DiPietro
>I turned an 8" tall natural edged bowl last night. It is 6" ID at the top point and 2.5" ID in the bottom. The bark edge is almost at 45 degrees. I rigged a wood jam chuck but the bowl wobbled too much.

Short of turning a stubby baseball bat, could I use a plastic pipe mounted to a chuck with a foam pad on the opposite end? What is a good technique for jam chucking this tall bowl form?

Craft supply sells a Bowl Chucker Pad at 6" dia. I would need a 3" diameter version on a shaft extension.

Thanks
