Subject:
opinion on a chainsaw needed

Steve Kubien
>Hi everybody,

I will soon be looking at a gas chainsaw and an opportunity has fallen in my lap. A friend is looking to unload a Stihl 025 for $200 Cdn. My (sizeable) gut is telling me that this may be too small (power-wise) for slabbing bowl blanks but I wanted to get you thoughts. Being on a budget, will this saw suit the purposes of a turner who likes green, found, wood for bowls and plates in the 10-20" diameter range? Will it frustrate me to no end? Will I burn it out?

I am not looking to start a debate about which brand is best. Just looking at usage for a particular saw.

Thanks for your help,
Steve Kubien
