Subject:
Questions on Pen Blanks

Tom Collins
>Greetings All, This is my first post here although I have been lurking for some time.

I scored a large red cedar trunk today and I would like to make some pens from it for the people who gave it to me.

Should I saw the blanks down to a certain dimension and let them air dry or can they be turned green? If I stabilize the blanks as mentioned in a previous post do they need to be dried first? Can the blanks be stabilized before drilling the hole or does that not work.

Sorry for all the ?'s. This kind of came up in a hurry and I've never made a pen before.

On a side note, I'm neighbors with Dave Peebles but I doubt if he will admit it.
