Tonight's Chat: Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

Steve Russell
>Hello to the group,

Please join us tonight for our weekly Turning Chat. This week our topic will be:

Thinking Outside The Box Stepping Out Of Your "Comfort Zone": We all have projects that we have mastered, or feel really comfortable turning. When you master a particular project (or projects), how do you continue your growth as an artist? One way is to step out of your comfort zone occasionally and turn something you've never turned before, or perhaps turn something you've always said you would never turn.

How can thinking outside the box help you to grow as an artist and fire your creative juices? How can challenging your existing skill sets with new materials and turning techniques make you a better overall woodturner? Why is it important to bite the bullet occasionally and get out of the comfort zone that we all find ourselves in from time to time? Join us this Wednesday night as we discuss "thinking outside the box" and "stepping outside of our comfort zone" to stretch our creative, artistic and technical skill boundaries.

We will start the chat with a 15 minute review of 2 selected works by our WC friends.
If you are interested in having your work reviewed at the turning chat, remember to email Ron 1 or 2 (max.) photos of some of your recent work (completed or unfinished, in process etc.) for our "Show and Tell" session. Please indicate whether you are submitting the photos as "Completed Work" for a critique, or as an "Assistance Needed" submission that you would like some type of help, or assistance with.

Turning Chat room opens at 9:00pm EDT (For meet and greet)
Show-N-Tell starts at 9:30pm EDT
Main Topic starts at 9:45pm EDT
Post Chat Wrap-Up starts at 10:30pm EDT (For extended discussions if desired)

See you there!
