Subject:
Somewhat turning related:making curl pop!

steve antonucci
>I just finished a curly maple bowl, and as usual, I am disappointed in the "pop" I got from a really curly piece of maple. I was using a broken up, busted stump when I noticed it was ridiculously curly. Brought it home, roughed and DNA soaked, and finish turned (to 600 Grit).

So I hit it with some lacquer, and nothing. If I hold it right, I can see that there's curl there, but I want to have that "wow" curl pop I see in other's work.

How does one get that?
