>I've got a couple of weeks to kill before the start of the fall semester and so I am going to be sawing a bunch of bowl blanks, etc. I have two questions:

1. When sawing a log, is it necessary to actually a couple of inches out of the center {a la Bill Grumbine), or is it sufficient to cut it in half. Bill, please weigh in on this.

2. Does anyone know where I can get Anchor Seal or an acceptable substitute here in Denton, Texas.
