Subject:
What is this grain called? *PIC*

Allen Neighbors
>This is a 14.5"dia x 3.25"tall, shallow bowl with a rolled edge, made from an Ash crotch piece that I found laying in an alley. The foot is 3/16" high. It's sanded through 600 grit, and has the first coat of Russ' home brew on it (tung/spar/turp). There's a lot of chatoyance... maybe that's what put the funny colors on it.
I don't know what this grain is called... curl? flame? something else? Someone enlighten me, please.
Please forgive the photography... first pic was taken outside, the rest on my lathe.
Critiques welcome.
