natural edge hollow form

>I got some buckeye burl from a friend. It is beautiful wood. Heres the question, I turned the log down to a 11"H x 10W hollow form. The problem is Im going to leave the burl on the top entrance hole and leave a big, big inclusion in the top half. The entrance hole is about 1.5" and about .5" of the entrance falls off to a hollow inclusion. So do I turn the peice down to have a solid top entrance hole and a big hole on the side or do I just go for it? Im just afraid when I get so far in Its all gonna explode or break off. So my question is has anyone got any techniques to make it easier or am I out of my range in difficulty. Thanks for all your expert advice.
You guys have helped me out before I really appreciate it.
