Subject:
Cutter Tip Milling

Eric
>Greetings All! I have attempted to make some small hollowing tools, similar to those offered by David Ellsworth. At his home shop he uses a specially made jig he inserts the square stock cutter heads, held in place with a set screw (similar to a pencil sharpener), slides this jig in a track, foward towards the grinding wheel, knocks off the corners and rounds the back side of the tip for easy insertion into the end of the tool steel. Seeing as I am neither a machinist, nor an expert jig builder, can anyone offer up a suggestion on how to round off the backs of tips instead of holding them in a pair of vice grips and trying to do this freehand. Thanks.
