Subject:
Slight OT - Video Camera

Brodie Brickey
>I'm looking for a video camera to put together some tutorials for some of my project ideas. I was at the AAW Symposium this year and while things were a lot better than previously, there were some video focus problems due to spinning wood and lighting.

So I was wondering what video camera to get. I don't want to spend more than $1000 if at all possible and I'll be hard pressed as it is to justify that to my wife. I also want to be able to provide the best quality image possible.

From what I understand from reading some of the posts, the ability to auto focus on a distance and then turn off auto focus will allow me to show cuts without the blurring issue.

Although I have experience with digital cameras, video is pretty much new to me. What cameras do your turning clubs use?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brodie
