Adjusting the tool rest w/lathe on. *LINK*

>I watched some turning videos on YouTube this weekend and noticed something. Most of the turners adjusted the tool rest without turning the lathe off. This is NOT something I do. But Iím wondering how unsafe others think this practice is, so on a scale of one to ten (helpful guide below), how dangerous is this?

10 (similar to juggling chainsaws that are running)
9
8
7
6
5 (high likelihood of damaging the work piece, low likelihood of damaging the turner)
4
3
2
1 (similar to petting kittens, youíll probably get scratched, but so what)

Just Curious,
Troy
