Subject:
How do I sand my legs?

>Hello.

So I have these four legs turned and they are all pretty similar. I've been trying to sand them smooth but I'm having a hard time. I've never had a hard time sanding so this seems odd. Must be something very simple I am doing wrong. I have very little experience sanding round things on the lathe. In fact I prefer using scrapers and planes on flat stuff! Can I say flat stuff over here? Didn't break a rule did I? :)

I am using quality paper and going through the grits. I keep getting scratches though. It's as if I can't get rid of sctratches from the 100 grit paper. What's the trick? I'm doing this on the lathe. Should it be spinning fast or slow? Pretty soon I'm gonna end up with tooth picks.

Suggestions?

Thanks
Joe
