Subject:
A-11 steel Negative Rake Scraper Grinding *PIC*

Gordon Seto
>I bought this A-11 steel 1 wide, 5/16 thick negative rake scraper (NRS) blank from Doug Thompson. It was fresh back from the heat and cryogenic treatment before cleaning up, polishing and grinding. I need to lay my hand on this batch; there may be nothing left when Doug takes them to the Portland Symposium.
I saw Stuart Batty used the NRS to get a silky finish cut on the inside of tall and narrow bowl demo. Any idea on what the top and bottom grinding angles are?
I also got the skew. It took a lot of effort to clean up and grind. If I knew what I know now. I would have Doug ship me the completed skew.
