Turning Archive 2007

>I've been researching aeolian flutes, intending to make a wind-driven sound sculpture (at least until my wife finds out about it). I was struck by the similarity in some of the designs with the hollow form pics I see posted here, and I wondered whether any of you had experimented with turned instruments or, at least, sound-producing vessels
Here is a Portuguese example (in clay):
However another page (http://members.aol.com/woinem1/index/index.htm#3 [see "Part 1"])used a toy balloon as a form to make a papier mache sounding vessel-- which sounds pretty close to some of the hollow forms I've seen(my apologies if this comparison offends anyone!).
So, are there any woodturning, aspiring musicians (not to say blowhards) out there?
