Subject:
Beading Vs Fluting *PIC*

>I'm posting this to show the dramatically different effects that can be achieved form beading vs fluting. I've posted the one on the left before(5239), but not the one on the right(5240). These pieces were nearly adjacent to each other in the log and were turned to the same shape and size. (10 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches in diameter.). Then one was beaded and the other fluted. Then both were identically dyed with yellow aniline dye and treated with black patinating wax. I think it's quite striking the difference in the grain of the ash which is made by beading vs fluting.
Comments welcome.
