Repairing tool rest wobble?

wilbur
>I have a 60 year old Walker Turner lathe that I purchased recently. I've noticed that my tool rest has a bit of a wobble in it. Holding it, I can't reproduce the wobble, but if I clamp the tool rest in the banjo I can make the rest wiggle a little bit around the post.

I'd just get another tool rest, but the post of the tool rest has an unusual diameter, so a replacement has been hard to come by. My bet is that rebrazing/rewelding the post will fix this, but I'd like to check before doing something permanent to the tool rest.

Suggestions? What would be the best way of fixing this?
