Subject:
Long spindle split?

John Kyler
>I have a spindle I need to turn that exceeds the length capacity of any standard lathe I have access too. It appears the original was turned in two parts and then joined together. Those who have done this, what is the best way to do this? I plan at this point to turn both pieces and drill a hole in both ends that join and glue a dowel. Any other suggestions?
TIA
John
