Subject:
Black Locust Bowl *PIC*

Scott Hurley in N. VA
>I haven't turned/posted for several months - for a number of reasons. Anyhow, I finally got to use the lathe some, and made several bowls. This is the first - black locust that I got from neighbor after it fell on his fence. This wood is hard as a rock, and has a very distinct grain pattern. I found it very hard to sand it smooth because of the difference in hardness between the early and late wood in the rings. Finished with Watco.
