>Just read a news blurb about a new material harder than diamonds and inexpensive (probably based on comparative materials) to make. The article is titled, "Super-tough material mimics metal and crystal". You'd probably have to form it to the shape and cutting edge you want as it might be VERY hard to reshape.

Obviously, no one is making tools from this yet, but maybe if we're lucky. The link is below.
