Subject:
Maple burl bowl *PIC*

RevDoug
>This is the bowl that was mounted on the 1624 when I was showing off my new acquisition. Ended up looking pretty good. The finish I was experimenting with was a total failure. Had a good build-up but when I went to buff it, the finish pealed right off. My heart sank and I felt sick. Back on the lathe and started sanding again. Once smooth, I put another coat of Tung Oil Finish on, let dry, and buffed. Now it's smooth as my baby's bottom. About 9" diameter and 4.5" tall. Meant to be used.
