Subject:
Jet 1236 switch at tailstock end?

Ken Grunke from SW WI
>I guess this question can apply to any lathes with a fixed switch at the headstock end. If a piece starts going out of balance on the lathe after I've moved into position at the tail end (as when hollowing a vessel) I'd like a switch at the tailstock end so I don't have to walk across the danger zone. Anyone have a bright idea for this? I'm thinking to glue a strong magnet to a steel surface-mount box, with a 20-amp lightswitch in it, with 12-guage stranded copper wire so I can move it around. Looking for a simple and cheap solution, if possible. Thanks.
