Salt Shaker

>I made a peppermill for my wife and she wants a matching salt shaker. Never made one and see the process is different because it is 1 piece. On the peppermill I was able to make a tenon to hold it in the chuck to drill hole and finish turn the mill. On a salt shaker I see drilling from 1 end and when I turn it around to drill other end you do not have a tenon to work with. I hope I explained this as not confuse anyone. Bottom line I guess is what is the process in making a salt shaker opposed to a peppermill? Thanks for any help.
