Subject:
Light Pull friction drive

Mike in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA
>I'm thinking about taking my scrap bin and turning about fifty or so light/fan pulls for a craft show I'm participating in next week-end. Has anyone used the friction drive that Packard and Craft supplies sells? It seems like the wood quits spinning if I don't have the pen mandrel tight enough when making pens. I'm not sure I'm confident that the drive will be positive enough to keep the wood from stopping when I cut it with the friction drive. I don't want to have to tighten it so much that I split the wood. Any ideas? I don't plan on getting the light pull kits that use the 7 mm tube. Just turning scraps with holes.
Thanks,
Mike
