Subject:
Death of a loved one

>The news is bad. My loyal and trusted friend has a terminal case of "dead motor". The electrician was just here. He tested the line voltage coming in, across the top and going out. All read 240 volts. The run-off switch is, but the motor refuses to budge, but can be hand rotated. The motor is a Lesson 1 HP. ANyone know of a reliable and inexpensive source? I may replace it with a 2 HP if the price is right. Gotta be cheaper than buying a whole new lathe, right?

For those wishing to view the decedant's corpse, please call ahead for viewing hours.

P.S. Now I truly know how an addict looking for a fix feels! ;-)
