Subject:
Woodburning your name, etc

>Hello All,

I had rushed through making a couple of bowls for my sister-in-law for Christmas and hadn't signed it. A week ago she brought them out and asked me to sign them. These were fully finished bowls. I tried woodburning my name, the year that they were made, and the type of wood in them. It left little ridges on the bottom of the bowl where I had done this. So, here's my questions, what is the proper sequence for using a woodburner to sign your name. My guess is sand, woodburn, seal, finish, but do you sand it again after you sign it? I feel like I have done just about every dumb thing out there to do. Here's one more. Thanks for all your help.
