Subject:
Routing/Fluting Sled *PIC*

Bruce Forrest
>I've been asked a couple of times to post some pictures of the apparatus that I used to rout pieces while mounted on the lathe. I guess my explanations left something to be desired. Anyway, for straight flutes it certainly nothing fancy. Just a simple L-shaped sled with a couple of brackets holding the laminate trimmer sliding on a plywood table. The top of the plywood table is bolted to the ways of the lathe (bolt hidden behind sled in the picture) and for added stability, I made a couple of legs out of plywood scraps which just slide in and then out of the way again when I'm finished. Table can be waxed for added ease of operation.
I'll post a second message with a close-up view.
