Subject:
Replacement blade shank size

Doug Thompson near Cleveland
>I need your thoughts and ideas;

Tool steel is sold .015 (1/64) oversize and as is will fit all aftermarket handles except a 3/8 in a Oneway because it's the same size, this shank size needs to be turned down a bit.

To make your own wood handle would require a drill bit 1/64 larger than a commom size. Example; 1/2 - 33/64, 5/8 - 41/64

Should a 1/2 - 5/8 tool shank be turned down or not?

What are your thoughts or am I worried about fifteen thousands for nothing.
