Subject:
Dust Collection

HeatherA in Alaska
>Hello, after recently coming in all stopped-up after sanding, my husband surprised me with a dust collector as an early anniversary present. He got me the Jet dc-650sb. It is a small unit with a 30 micron filter (that as far as I can tell cannot be changed for one that filters smaller particles). I have read many of the posts in the archives and realize that it is probably not sufficient. My question is whether I should get one that filters to smaller particles (looking at the Jet with 2 micron canister) or if one of the airshield/ Triton type helmets would be a better choice. It seems from what I have read that many people use both. If I had just the helmet would it get clogged up quickly without any other DC system? I am trying to stay under $300 or so. Is that possible?

Thanks,
Heather
