Woodchucker sandpaper

>I doubt that it's really called ,'Woodchucker', but it's from a Canadian site called something like, 'woodchucker.com' where you get it. Does anyone use it? I do, and I like it very much. But I have a question: when you look at it up close, it appears to have a very regular, kind of rectangular grid pattern to it. It doesn't look like tiny particles, for example. Does anyone know how this stuff is made?
