Turning Archive 2007
>This piece of Yellow Poinciana came from a large tree felled on the grounds of Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace in the US. The center was hollow, which was the reason for cutting it down. Diameter is 16" and height is 4-3/4". Rolled and undercut rim; walls about 5/16" thick. Rounded bottom has a small concave spot in the center for stability. Finished with 5-6 coats of General Salad Bowl Finish and Beal buffed. Don't normally like such a glossy finish, but the buyer, who committed to this piece in the rough stage, requested it. Will be a house warming gift for her daughter. Hope she likes it.
