Subject:
Can I fix this?

Steve Kubien
>I was turning a splated maple bowl today and in my excitment, I didn't drill a depth hole. I managed to put a 3/8" hole through the base. What is the best way to fix this and move on? Epoxy and dust? Epoxy putty? Cut away even more and glue in a new base (really do not want to do that)? Except having a trashed piece and hang it up close to the lathe as a reminder? I would appreciate your help because the wood is pretty spectacular and I really love the shape.

Thanks,
