Here's another recently finished Maple + brass *PIC*

>bowl, it's about 10" x 4.5", Sugar Maple, comes from a very stressed area of a tree that had the top broken out with a storm I assume, several new branches shot up and 4 of those grew large, the wood came fro that area, I turned it fairly thin and let it dry, it didn't split at the rim or the regular places, but got several smaller splits in bottom and one got a bit wider, I filled that one with some brass shavings, and also put some in the smaller splits, I have let it sit to settle down, and I'm confident it'll stay like this now, so polished and waxed it, looks much better than in the pic'.
Have fun and take care
