Subject:
Corrugata burl cap

Mike Cunningham (Cape May NJ)
>I've turned a fair amount of Australian burls but this is the first time using corrugata. The piece I'm doing is a burl cap and quite unbalanced and irrecgular, about 23" X 17" X 4", the 22". It's also rather dry.

I'm finding this wood to be harder than woodpecker lips, I mean really hard, beating me up hard.

I'm curious, have any of you turned this stuff and found it to be this hard or have I just hit it lucky? If this is typical, it's my last time.

Thanks,
Mike

ps: I'll post a pic when finished
