Subject:
sea urchin ornaments question ???

Ed Moore
>I have been having fun lately making Christmas ornaments using sea urchin shells. The shells come from the Phillipines and have a small sticker on them saying so. When you remove the sticker a shiny patch of glue is left on the shell. I contacted Sea Shell World and asked them how to remove the glue and they said to use WD-40. I have tried and could not see any effect that WD-40 had on the glue. I rubbed the area with WD-40 on a small piece of tee shirt and got nothing.

My question: What solvent should one use to remove the glue on the sea urchins? I recognize that these shells are delicate and would be adversely affected by most chemicals.

TIA,

Ed
