Subject:
DEFT clear wood finish

Wolf Kiessling
>I am getting a little tired of finishing my turnings with my traditional Danish Oil finish so, since I am under the impression that Deft Wood Finish is a popular item, I bought myself a quart.

According to the instructions, you are only supposed to apply this stuff with a bristle brush in thin coats so I did that. Did not like the results because I got runs.

I then used a paper towel to apply it on a slowly spinning lathe. Did not like these results either and, besides that, it was difficult to apply. I thought about using this method using thinned Deft but the can said not to thin it.

I am sure that I am doing something wrong because something this popular can't be that difficult to use. Can someone please tell me the best way to apply this product to turnings..........
