>This platter was done using the router table jig for my lathe. I move the table up 1/2" above center, then below center 1/2" and then on center. This gave an angle to the 3 v grooves. I'm not sure I like the way the ends distort where the beads are. It didn't dawn on me at the time that because they are at an angle they won't look exactly like the one in the middle. Next attempt will be to use a different router bit for the two outside inserts. This will give them a radically different shape.

The texture was applied using a Dremel engraver with a rounded over tip.
