Subject:
sharpening a Glaser gouge on a Tormek

>Sometimes I use a grinding wheel with the Wolverine jig to sharpen tools, and sometimes I use a Tormek. For most of my HSS tools the Tormek, while slower, definitely produces a sharper edge. I say 'most' because for some weird reason, I can't seem to get my Glaser gouge sharp on the Tormek. I have the proper Tormek jig and use exactly the same set up for another gouge as for the Glaser. This HSS gouge is truly sharp. But the Glaser just doesn't get sharp on the Tormek.I can sharpen it just fine on the wheel. I can only guess that it has something to do with the type of steel. Has anyone experienced difficulty sharpening a Glaser gouge on the Tormek?

Perplexed in sharpening land.
