Subject:
Good beginners wood

Henry - Olympia, WA
>Hi,
I am just getting started in wood turning. I got a Jet mini three years ago, but due to us moving and me having to build a new basement shop, I am only getting to it now :(
I am working my way through the exercises in Keith Rowley's book. I used basswood, but it does not seem to be a good wood to use. Any ideas on what would be a good wood for a beginner? I think he uses some European Pine for the exercises.
Thanks a lot!
