Subject:
How many rough turned pieces?

Allen Neighbors
>I just read a post below, about Terry's 200+ rough-turned bowls. Absolutely blew me away. Right now, I have 5 or 6 bowls in the soup... none on a drying rack.
I've tried 'twice-turning' only about 4 or 5 times. All turned to 10% dia. Wrapped in brown paper. Dried opening down. All have failed. Either ovalled to much to round, or split too bad to mess with, or tenon's failed due to concrete hardness. I'm leery about trying it again.
Three questions:
Approximately how many rough-turned bowls do you have in the drying process at this time?
What is your average failure rate?
What is your system for drying... i.e., turning, soaking, wrapping, drying, re-wrapping, etc.?
Curious.
