hunter hollowing tool

My dear wife got me a Hunter #4 hollowing tool for Christmas. Through my son, she decided I wanted some hollowing tools, I had in mind something like the Don Pencil hollowing tools, so she searched the woodcraft site and came up with a Hunter #4 hollowing tool, not exactly what I had in mind or thought I needed. IT is a carbide tipped tool that the description states is very useful for cutting burls, crotch wood, and other dirty or tough cutting wood. IT is not cheap, in the $100 range. I can return it if I want and get a different tool. My question is, does anyone have any experience with this sort of tool? How useful is it? Is it worth the $$$$$$$$$. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Jared
