Acrylic Pen Blank Help

Pete (Stafford, VA)
>Good evening Ladies and Gents,

I'm having trouble drilling my acrylic pen blanks for the brass tubes. So far I'm 1 for 6; they are too expensive and too nice to waste at this rate!!!

The problem seems to be when the drill bit exits the reverse side, then bam - the blank explodes. I'm using Brad point bits, should I be using something else? Also, I'm running the drill press at about 1,200 - too fast or slow??

Thanks for any and all advice! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

Pete
