Subject:
Tool handle and shot?

>Tool handle talk continued...

Adding shot to a handle has been done for a long time with claims that the vibration from turning is reduced. Has any company done a real test to find out how much the vibration is reduced? Does the shot really counter act the forces or is it the extra weight from the shot that makes the tool feel better? I'm sure the shot does resonant in the handle but does 6 - 10oz's of shot really reduce vibration. Is this fact or hype?

I made my own aluminum handles, some filled with shot and some solid aluminum. Besides the weight difference there is no noticable vibration in either.

Tell me what you think...
