Turning Archive 2006
>After nearly 4 months of closing one shop and setting up in my home garage, I turned in my new location for the first time on Saturday. This was a dry piece of cherry burl that my friend in CT sent me some time ago. No the easiest piece to start out again on, but it was like riding a bike. I set up to handle the chips, but the dust is a whole different story. Sorry for the photo--taken outside in the shade, on an old shower curtain used for a drop cloth. Immersed in recycled Watco oil, then Beal buffed. A little conservative on this one: wall thickness 1/4" - 3/8", 10-1/2" dia. and 7-1/4" high.
