>A few people know I've turned a few bowls and am interested in wood for same. Recently this showed up. BIL's sister took down an oak in her yard and he thought I might be able to use this. I've turned maybe a dozen basic bowls and that's about all. What do I do with this? I'm guessing it's got some rot in the center as it has some soft spots I can feel on the cut.
It's about 14 inches in diameter.
Someone give me a hint, please.
